Social Studies 100
The Grade 7 Social Studies Course uses the theme of Empowerment to educate students in a variety of skills. The theme is examined using Canadian History from 1800--the mid Twentieth century.
During the course students will study six units: An introduction to empowerment, Economic empowerment, Political empowerment, Cultural empowerment, Societal Empowerment and National Empowerment.
The purpose of the course is for students in grade 7 to sample studying subjects such as History, Geography, Politics and Economics whilst practicing essential skills such as document analysis, making judgements, map work and understanding the political spectrum.
As well as developing your ability to analyse sources and your geographical skills we will also be working on basic literacy skills such as reading, note-taking and writing.
